Jaw motion analysis is the essential part of temporomandibular disorders diagnosis. The authors describe the background for the evolution of the devices, which leads to functional multimodal image acquisition. Scans of face, dentition, put together with CT reconstruction, are registered in certain mandible positions by means of optical face scanner, using the transfer: kinematic facial arch as a conjunction of the images. The sets of registrations leads to 3Dmovement analysis.
