The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IITiS PAN) is a co-founder of the Joint Doctoral School.

The Joint Doctoral School provides training to obtain a doctoral degree in the following disciplines:

  1. architecture and urban planning,
  2. automation, electronics and electrical engineering,
  3. biomedical engineering,
  4. technical information technology and telecommunications,
  5. civil engineering and transportation,
  6. chemical engineering,
  7. materials engineering,
  8. mechanical engineering,
  9. environmental engineering, mining and energy,
  10. chemical sciences,
  11. management and quality sciences.

The Joint Doctoral School Secretariat operates under the Doctors School , being a university-wide unit (RJO15) of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, established by the resolution of the Senate of the Silesian University of Technology of May 28, 2018.
